Privacy notice
How we use personal information. This notice covers the website and the first enquiry. Client files are also covered by our professional duties to you and to the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
Who we are
Kristina Murray Solicitors, 479 Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast BT4 3LJ. Phone 028 9443 8955. Email info@kmsolicitor.co.uk. We are the controller of personal information you send through this website.
What we collect from this website
If you request a callback, you give us your name, phone number, the subject of the enquiry, whether we may leave a voicemail, and any optional email address or note. The form sends these details to the office inbox. We do not run a separate marketing database from this form.
To stop automated spam, the form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which checks technical signals from your browser and may ask you to complete a short challenge. Google's privacy policy and terms apply to that check. reCAPTCHA only loads when you reach the form.
We also store your cookie choice in local storage on your device. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics records how pages are used, for example which pages are visited and whether the callback form was sent. It does not receive what you type into the form. See the cookie notice.
Why we use it
We use enquiry details only to respond to you, for example to call you back about a possible instruction. The lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and, once you are a client, the steps needed to supply legal services and to meet our professional obligations.
We do not use enquiry details for newsletters or marketing. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Before you are a client, the enquiry stays with the office. Service providers handle it for us under contract and only on our instructions: Cloudflare hosts this website, Google runs the spam check, hosts our email and, if you allow it, provides analytics, and Mailgun delivers the form to our inbox. Yellowcom, who build and maintain this website, receive a copy of form enquiries so they can make sure the form is working, and do not use them for anything else. If you instruct us, we may have to share information with the court, the other party's solicitors, the Legal Services Agency Northern Ireland if legal aid is applied for, barristers we instruct, and other people needed to progress your case. We tell you when that is not obvious.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails that do not become a case are kept only as long as we need to reply and to deal with any follow-up, then deleted. Client files are kept for the period required by our professional rules and by the type of case. Ask us if you want the retention period for a particular file.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, and, in some cases, ask us to delete it or to limit how we use it. You can withdraw consent for a callback at any time by phoning or emailing us. That does not affect a file we are already legally required to keep. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk, if you think we have handled information badly. Please tell us first so we can put it right.
Children
This website is not directed at children. If we act for a child, or in a case about a child, that information is handled under our professional duties and, where it applies, the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995. Do not put a child's full story into the website form. Say enough for us to call you, and tell us the rest in private.
